Today more or less everyone has heard about climate change and the greenhouse effect. Another thing is that everyone really understands the same when they talk about these two concepts. When the same academic don’t agree on many aspects of the climate, it’s unrealistic to think that the general population has a unique view of the events that affect the current and future climate. Everything concepts and Climate Change and Greenhouse are two concepts that attempt to describe unambiguous easily.
Climate Change is exactly that means its name: the climate change is only the pass-through of a particular climate state in other different. It is a very common situation that has happened several times in the life of our planet and for some historical times. It is a traumatic event for a living beings but characteristic of the weather luckily frequency is small compared to the lives of most of these beings, allow periods with calm.
The Greenhouse is a quality of our atmosphere which allowed life to maintain a comfortable temperature through which water can be in liquid phase. The mechanism is simple, energy from the sun reaches us in the form of radiation of all frequencies of the electromagnetic spectrum, where most of the energy frequencies belong to the visible and near. The atmosphere is transparent to visible and translucent to some others, it’s a luck that saves us from the high-energy rays, infrared and microwave. Visible radiation reaches the surface reflecting the most up and coming back out into space, and simultaneously absorb some of this energy to the surface (ground and sea). All body for only it has temperature emits radiation, temperature also determines the range of frequencies where most energy will be reaching where maximum transmission frequency is higher when the temperature is higher, if the Sun has temperature of about 5,000 K and its maximum radiation is in the visible, the surface around 300 K so it has the maximum radiation at a lower frequency in the infrared which is not transparent to the atmosphere, and will be trapped.
This is the same mechanism as the greenhouse, hence the name. however, there is a difference between the atmosphere and our greenhouses, glass and plastic greenhouses is a passive agent that is not affected by the effect (increasing temperature)*, so their behavior is linear and always behaves equal, but the greenhouse effect of the atmosphere is affecting by the temperature rises, it’s producing to grown of effect too, so his behavior is not linear.
That means linear. Suppose a phenomenon A, which depends on one or more variables Vn and the relationship between Vn and A is established for one or more parameters Kn (A = ΣKnxVn); it is linear if any Kn or Vn haven’t functional dependency with A, that’s if it’s possible to completely isolate of A**. In the case of greenhouse interior temperature is based on the power of radiation, glass and exposure time, and none of the three things depend on the temperature inside, but works the atmosphere differently because it mainly absorbs radiation and this heats up, as the absorption depends on the temperature then we have a parameter that has a functional dependence with the phenomenon.
So we must understand how the greenhouse of our atmosphere works. When food has been warming in a microwave device it has been bombarding with electromagnetic radiation of microwave range, especially around a frequency that water molecules have resonance, it increases their excitation (kinetic energy ) and subsequent process thermalitzation*** just heating everything. This magic frequency isn’t the only that can absorb water, it has more in the range of microwave (microwave isn’t all working on the same frequency) and especially in the infrared. The atmosphere does something similar, greenhouse gases have different frequencies of absorption in the infrared region and the greenhouse gases are a few, the atmosphere absorbs a lot of the frequencies of the infrared emitted from the surface that heats the air, and lets out another part of the radiation. The atmosphere composed mostly of nitrogen and oxygen molecules that don’t participate in effect allowing too much of the absorbed frequencies can also escape, so the concentration of greenhouse gases determines the effect can range from hell Venus frozen to world of Mars.
Since the beginning of the industrial revolution there has been an increase in CO2, this is a greenhouse gas that is associated with an increase in temperature. We can put the two graphs, one of main planet temperature other of concentration of gas, and both seem to imitate. As the industrial revolution has been associated with the burning of fossil fuels releases CO2 captured by plants over millions of years, this has been interpreted that the increase was a result of this CO2 and warming the logical consequence. First CO2 isn’t the main greenhouse gas. The main greenhouse gas is water (H2O) is the third most abundant gas in the atmosphere, 4% of the volume. CO2 is absorbed by the oceans through the waves and rain, this is because CO2 is more soluble in water than nitrogen and oxygen as they are methane (CH4) and ammonia (NH3) both also greenhouse gases. The solubility of these is depending to temperature so a higher temperature less CO2, CH4 and NH3 absorbs liquid water, and dissolved it escapes into the atmosphere by increasing the concentration of these gases. How much concentration of greenhouse gases more hider temperature and it means more freedom gases and less absorption. We also think that if the rain captures CO2, snow do it too, as the permanent snow has lots of captured CO2, if the warming reduces the permanent ice, this releases the captured CO2, also helping to speed up the process. This mechanism shows the correlation between rising CO2 and temperature increase, but significant increase in CH4 and NH3 is due to the oxidation of the atmosphere relatively quickly, in the case of methane passes thicken ranks CO2; into the sea is different because it becomes hydride (or hydroxide by NH3) accumulating and being hosted on the seabed (there are some oil companies who want to take the Hydride CH4, if it has evaporated). As far as cooling, low temperature water (liquid and solid) absorb greenhouse gases and produces acceleration towards cooling.
So the increase of CO2 and temperatures are not our fault? While this assertion has done nobody yet****, that probably happens is that our CO2 must be added with that corresponds to the temperature (probably the most). * Temperature affects the material also radiation variations but material effects don’t interact with the temperature.
